The tablets made of wax and made with hinges to protect the scribes work. The Grecian scholar, Cadmus invented the written letter- text messages on paper sent from one individual to another.

Writing was a useful tool for the ancient Romans- the written word could communicate ideas to the people of Rome and Roman subjects through-out the Empire. Only a fraction of the huge number of texts survived.

The Romans brought new inventions with them. They were the first to use concrete, bricks, and the Arch in Britain. They built underfloor heating systems, and decorated houses with fine mosaic floor and paintings.
